Accounting and reporting standards

POP follows guidelines from the Charity Commission for England and Wales.  The revised Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) sets out recommendations how a charity should report annually on the resources entrusted to it and the activities it undertakes.

POP has been registered with the Charity Commission since May 2007. A full set of our annual accounts for 07/08 and 08/09 are available here (link to Charity Commission website - POP page).  A copy of the annual accounts can be made available to all interested parties.

Internal financial controls

Although POP is run exclusively by volunteers, it maintains a high standard of internal controls including segregational of duties of its Trustees and volunteers and regular checks on all expenditure and income received. POP is extremely lucky to have volunteers and trustees, who bring various skills including, administrative, technical and financial experience to the table.
